The SUNY Brockport women's track & field team placed second with 150 team points and the men's team placed fourth with 127 points at the Geneseo Quad Meet & Multi on Sunday.
Brockport's
Elijah Washington continued his climb to the top of the division III hammer scene as he set a new facility record and placed first with a throw of 59.81m. His mark is a new school-record and ranks fourth on the outdoor national qualifying list. Washington's new school-record eclipsed the previous record of 59.76m which was set by Jake Basher back in 2007.
Matthew Jackson placed third with a regional qualifying throw of 54.44m and
Matt Faulise placed fourth with a regional qualifying and personal best throw of 53.07m.
Indoor national qualifier
Josh Jeziorski popped off in the long jump with a facility record and regional qualifying mark of 7.41m. His jump is a new personal best and narrowly missed out on setting a new school-record. He also ranks seventh on the outdoor national qualifying list.
Olivier Kothor began his outdoor season in style with a first-place finish in the 100m dash as he posted a regional qualifying time of 10.74. He also became just the fourth sprinter in program-history to break 22 seconds in the 200 meter dash as he posted a personal best time of 21.79 to take home second place. He now ranks 47
th nationally in the 100m dash and 53
rd nationally in the 200m dash.
Brockport's men's 4x100m relay team of
Kelley Brown,
Olivier Kothor,
Matthew Kilian and
Josh Jeziorski won the event with a regional qualifying time of 41.72 which ranks second all-time in Brockport's outdoor record book. Their time also ranks 22
nd nationally.
Brockport's women's 4x100m relay team of Satin Holmes, Marissa Wise, Aniya McGhie and Sarah Levine placed third with a regional qualifying time of 48.24 which ranks 26
th nationally on the outdoor qualifying list. Levine added a regional qualifying second place time of 12.49 in the 100m dash. Her time is a new personal best and ranks sixth all-time at Brockport. Satin Holmes placed third in the 100 with a time of 12.76. Levine added a sixth place finish in the 200m dash with a regional qualifying time of 25.99.
Brockport's men's discus squad placed seven athletes in the top 11 at the meet.
Art Jordan led the way with a regional qualifying throw of 48.11 which ranks 25
th nationally. The throw is a new personal best for Jordan and ranks in the top 10 in Brockport's all-time outdoor record book.
Devin Kipp (46.27m) and
John Demy (43.87m) each added regional qualifying throws in the discus. The discus mark for Demy is a new PR and ranks 82
nd nationally. Kipp's throw is a season-best and ranks 42
nd nationally.
Brockport's women's hammer throw team took home five of the top six spots at the meet. Sarah Crockett led the way with a first place finish and a regional qualifying throw of 49.21m. Ellie Ramirez added a regional qualifying throw of 47.45 to take home third and Lainey Porter placed fourth with a throw of 47.24m. Alayna Fredenburg placed fifth with a throw of 46.29m and Emma Kinnicutt placed sixth with a throw of 45.11m. Ramirez moved into 53
rd nationally and posted a new PR.
Crockett added a first place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.15m. Maleenah Ortiz placed fourth (11.19m), Emma Kinnicutt placed fifth (10.96m), Alayna Fredenburg placed sixth (10.86) and Ellie Ramirez placed seventh (10.71m).
Chanyce Powell posted a strong showing in the triple jump with a first place finish after a distance of 11.95m in her fifth attempt, narrowly missing out on improving her season best. Sarah Killip placed third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.48m.
Marissa Wise placed seventh in the women's 400m race with a regional qualifying time of 59.27. Her time is a new personal best and ranks in the top 100 nationally. She is now one of just five athletes in program-history to break 60 seconds in the 400m.
Kelsey Naldrett placed third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.72. Veronica Dailey placed third in the 1500m race with a time of 4:58.00.
Jennifer Metz placed third in the women's 800m race with a regional qualifying time of 2:20.15. Kaylee Haynes also added a regional qualifying time of 2:20.94 and placed fifth in the 800m race.
Alden Cayea placed first in the men's 3000m steeplechase with a regional qualifying and personal best time of 9:52.55.
Paul Suflita placed fourth in the men's 1500m race with a time of 4:04.49.
Alex Rood placed second in the shot put with a regional qualifying throw of 15.20m and
Elijah Washington finished in fourth with a regional qualifying throw of 14.71m. Faulise added a regional qualifying throw of 14.18m to place seventh.
Jonathan Zavala placed second in the 800m race with a regional qualifying time of 1:56.16.
Brockport returns to the track next Saturday when the Golden Eagles travel to the University of Rochester. The SUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place on May 6th and 7th at SUNY Geneseo.
