BROCKPORT, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's baseball team dropped game three of the SUNYAC series against SUNY Cortland Saturday morning by a score of 22-3. Yesterday, the #6 Red Dragons took game one, 15-2, before Brockport bounced back for a 3-1 win in game two.
Golden Eagle Highlights: James Houlahan recorded one hit and two RBIs against Cortland while Jake recorded a solo home run to make up the team's three runs in the game.
Justin Pangburn went 1-for-2 at the plate recording the team's only double of the game.
Ryan Voight,
Matt O'Dair, and
Ryan Mroczka also recorded hits in the game.
Brockport Pitchers: Matt McGowan (2-1) received the start on the mound before
Colin Pytlak took over with one out in the second inning.
Nick Lawlor would get the ball to start the third inning where he struck out three batters through 1.2 innings of work before
Nick Ianniello recorded the final out of the fifth inning. From their Just DelVecchio and
Keegan Jarvais would each pitch an inning striking out one batter during their time on the rubber.
Ryley O'Connell would then come into recorded the final outs for Brockport in the eighth inning.
Game Recap: The Red Dragons got out to a 10 run lead through three innings before
Jake Sisto got the Golden Eagles on the board with his solo home run in the fifth inning. Houlahan would later drive in the Golden Eagles' second and third runs of the game to make it a 10-2 game. From the fifth inning on Cortland would tack on 12 more runs to finish the game with a 22-3 win over Brockport.
Cortland advanced to 21-7 overall and 8-1 in SUNYAC play while the Golden Eagles record moved to 19-7 overall and 7-2 in conference play.
What's Ahead: Brockport will take a two-week break from conference play with four non-conference games lined up over the next few weeks. The team will head to Aurora, NY to take on Wells College at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, April 13th before hosting R.I.T, The University of Rochester and The Sage Colleges. The Golden Eagles will continue conference play In Oswego., NY on Friday, April 22nd against the Lakers at 3:00 pm.
