The SUNY Brockport men's and women's track & field teams sit in second place following day one of the SUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The women's team posted 58 points, while the men's team posted 52.
Brockport's
Alayna Fredenburg won the SUNYAC Conference crown with a throw of 36.41m in the javelin to earn 10 team points for Brockport. Â
Ellie Ramirez placed fifth in the javelin (34.60m), while
Emily Beattie placed sixth (32.48m). Fredenburg also won the women's hammer throw with a toss 48.06m.
Sarah Crockett placed second in the hammer with a throw of 47.11m.
Lainey Porter placed fifth with a throw of 44.20m.
Josh Jeziorski won the SUNYAC crown in the men's long jump with a distance of 7.13m to earn ten team points for the Golden Eagles. He currently ranks eighth nationally with a personal best distance of 7.41m.Â
Elijah Washington won the men's hammer throw with toss of 55.68m in heavy winds.
Matthew Jackson placed second in the hammer with a throw of 53.19m and Matt Faulice placed third with a throw of 51.30m.
Art Jordan placed seventh with a throw of 47.01m.
Chanyce Powell placed second in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.46m. Brockport's
Kelsie Naldrett placed third in the first round of the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.77.
Marrisa Wise placed fifth in the first round of the 400m dash with a time of 59.46, narrowly missing out on her personal best.
Sarah Levine and
Satin Holmes finished third and fourth in the first round of the women's 100m dash. Levine tied her personal record (12.49), while Holmes edged her PR with a time of 12.51 w (2.5). Wise added a personal best in the 200-meter race as she placed third in the prelims with a time of 24.96 and will advance to Saturdays finals. Levine PR'ed in the 200m dash with a time of 25.42 as she placed fourth in the prelims for Brockport.Â
Brockport's
Olivier Kothor qualified for Saturday's finals with a time of 11.00 in the men's 100m first round.
Josh Jeziorski advanced to Saturday's finals with a time of 11.21. Kothor placed second in the prelims of the 200m dash with a time of 22.03 and will advance to Saturday's finals.
Jonathan Zavala placed sixth in the 800m and advanced to Saturday's finals with a time of 1:55.25.
Jennifer Metz advanced to Saturday's finals with a time of 2:22.44 as she placed eighth in the women's 800m first round.Â
Sydney Steger placed sixth in the finals of the 10k with a regional qualifying and personal best time of 40:22.88.
Ethan Carey placed fifth in the men's 10k with a regional qualifying time of 31.51.16.
Tess Eichner placed fourth in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.90m.
Carson Swierski currently sits in fourth place in the men's decathlon with a score of 2861.
Madison Baker sits in sixth in the women's heptathlon with a score of 1939.
SUNYAC Championship competition resumes on Saturday at 9 a.m.
