BROCKPORT, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's volleyball team will have another busy week when they'll participate in four matches over the course of the week. First, the women will travel to RIT on Wednesday evening at 4:00 pm to take on the tigers before traveling the Greenville, PA for the Thiel Tournament hosted by Thiel College on Friday and Saturday, September 16
th and 17
th.
Last Week's Recap: The Golden Eagles went 3-1 last week, defeating Division II Roberts Wesleyan 3-0 while hosting the Brockport Invitational over the weekend. The Invitational Tournament saw Brockport face off against William-Smith, the University of Rochester, and Hamilton College. The Golden Eagles won their first match against William-Smith Friday night in a thrilling 3-2 match before defeating the University of Rochester 3-1 Saturday morning. Saturday evening, Brockport would then fall to the undefeated Hamilton College 3-0. The tournament also saw fifth-year setter
Kerri McHale hit a huge milestone when she became just the eighth player in program history to record 2,000 career set assists. The assist happened during the first point of the second set Saturday morning against U of R.

Jordan Thompson, has been selected as the SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Offensive Athletes of the Week. Thompson now leads the SUNYAC in four offensive statistical categories which include points (114.0), kills (88) points per set (4.4), and kills per set (3.38). Thompson finished the four games with 57 kills in 15 sets for 3.80 kills per set (k/s) with a .236 hitting percentage. along with kills, Thompson recorded a total of 72.0 points, 40 digs, 11 service aces, and eight block assists. On Friday night against William Smith, Thompson had a career night for the Golden Eagles in the team's 3-2 victory. She recorded a career-high in five separate statistical categories with 31 points, 22 kills, 14 digs, seven aces, and four total blocks for a total of 31.0 points. Saturday morning against the Yellowjackets, Thompson would set a new career high in digs with 16 while recording another 20 kills.
Golden Eagles Stats: All-America
Andrea Coyle ranks second in points for Brockport after totaling 96.5 points at to start of the season. She is averaging 3.71 points per set and has a total of 81 kills for 3.12 kills/set average while totaling 11 service aces while leading the team with 86 digs and having nine block assists. Next to Coyle with the third most points on the team is
Myah Frostclapp with 53.0 points. She tallied 37 kills and three service aces while leading the team in total blocks from three solo blocks and 20 block assists. Along with her blocks, she also has 17 total digs to her defensive stats.
Next to Coyle on the team in digs is defensive specialist/libero
Madalyn Bowen who tallied 83 digs in 18 sets averaging 4.61 digs per set.
Brooklyn Sullivan has proved to be a key defensive player as well for the Golden Eagles as she's recorded 74 digs averaging 3.08 digs per set.
Looking at RIT: The Tigers are 2-3 to begin the season. Liv Benard leads RIT's offense with 69.0 points totaling 56 kills averaging 3.83 points per set while having 11 service aces, 36 digs, three blocks, one solo, and two block assists. Marie Fraser is the team leader in blocks with 10 blocks from solo blocks and five block assists. Jessica Klein leads the team in digs with 39 for 3.25 digs per set average.
What's Ahead: Following RIT, Brockport will travel to Thiel for the Thiel Tournament and face host Thiel College, Alma College, and Grove City College. The first opponent volleyball will see is host Thiel on Friday night at 7:30 pm before taking on Alma College at 10:00 am the following day and then Grove City College that afternoon at 2:00 pm.
