Ithaca, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's soccer team took its first loss of the season on Friday night, 1-0, against Ithaca College on the road. Brockport moves to 2-1-3 overall and Ithaca improves to 1-4-1.
Ithaca proved to be the aggressor in the opening half, outshooting Brockport 5-2. The Bombers also gained an advantage with five corner kick opportunities compared to just one for the Green and Gold.
After a scoreless first half, Ithaca got on the board in the 70
th minute thanks to Alex Cabeca's goal. Reefe Harrison was credited with the assist as the home team went up 1-0.
The Golden Eagles would fire six shots, including two on target, in the second half. However, they were unable to find the back of the net after the full 90 minutes. The squad ended up falling to the Bombers, 1-0, for its first loss of the 2022 season.
