Buffalo, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's soccer team played Medaille College to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night. The tie pushes Brockport's record to 2-1-4 overall on the season.
The Golden Eagles got on the board early with a goal just 8:01 into the match.
Josh Fitzpatrick scored his first goal of the season, with the assist coming from
Dylan Rippe.
Brockport's one-goal lead didn't last long, as the Mavericks would tie it up. At 23:31 they scored the equalizer thanks to Ander Castillo. The two non-conference opponents entered halftime tied at 1-1.
Medaille outshot Brockport 11-4 in the first half, but
Andrew Taylor allowed just one goal and made two saves. He finished with four stops in the game.
Although the Golden Eagles would fire off eight shots in the second half, Medaille held to just two, they couldn't break the tie. Neither team would score before the 90 minutes was up, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
Brockport returns home on Wednesday, September 21
st for the first SUNYAC matchup of the season. Oswego comes to town for a 4pm start.
