BROCKPORT, NY - The SUNYAC has selected SUNY Brockport's Ella Buchanan as the SUNYAC Field Hockey Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week of July 18^th in a press release by the conference office Monday evening.
 
Buchanan played the full 60 minutes in net for Brockport in the 6-2 victory over Utica last week. She came up with three saves and allowed two goals in the match. Buchanan's effort in goal helped push the Golden Eagles to 4-1 overall on the season.
 
In total this season, Buchanan has been Brockport's primary goalkeeper where she's played a total of 280:46 minutes in cages. She holds a record of 4-1 with 2 combined shutouts and is averaging 1.50 goals against average with a .720 save percentage.
 
In the conference, she is tied for the most wins amongst qualifying goalkeepers (4), has the third lowest goals against average percentage (1.50), allows the fourth fewest goals per game (1.40), has the fourth most minutes per game of goalkeepers (56:09) and the fifth most minutes overall (280:46).
