Houghton, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's tennis team dropped to 0-2 on the season after a 7-2 loss to the Houghton Highlanders on the road.
 
In singles competition, 
Eliza Gonzalez and 
Emma Lissow both won their matchups to score the squad's two points on the day.
 
Gonzalez got the win in first singles, taking the point two-sets to none 6-1, 6-3. Lissow took care of business in the fourth singles slot in just two sets 6-2, 6-3 for her first win of the season.
 
The Houghton Highlanders were able to capture points in the remaining four singles battles, needing just two sets in each.
 
In doubles play the Golden Eagles put up a fight, but their opponent swept all three matchups.
 
Lena Paolicelli and 
Olivia Raschiatore battled in second doubles before Houghton's pairing edged the point by way of an 8-6 win.
 
Shannon Aubin and 
Emma Lissow pushed the third doubles set to a tiebreaker, before falling 8-7 (7-4).
 
Brockport begins SUNYAC play next weekend with another pair of road matches. The team takes on Oswego State on September 9
th at 3pm before moving to Cortland for a 1pm match on September 10
th.
