Women's Basketball Travels for SUNYAC Set This Weekend

Brockport, NY – This weekend the SUNY Brockport women's basketball team will play back-to-back road games. Brockport faces Plattsburgh Friday night at 5:30pm before moving on to play Potsdam at 2pm on Saturday.
 
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles came up just short of a win against Oneonta at home last outing. They lost, 66-65, dropping to 7-9 overall and 4-5 in the conference. Zairea Hannah put up a season-high 25 points in the game, but it wasn't enough. The visiting Red Dragons took the lead in the final minute to sneak away with a win. Brockport has now lost three straight.
 
Recent Performances: Zairea Hannah scored an efficient 25 points, shooting 10-for-17 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 at the line against Oneonta. Stephanie Jean-Baptiste put up 16 in the same contest, hitting double figures for the seventh straight game. Ann Lee has shot the ball well recently, going 8-for-13 from the floor and 4-for-4 at the line across the last two games.
 
Team Leaders: Averaging 11.4 points a game, Anna Felice leads the team in scoring and ranks 10th in the SUNYAC in points per game. Felice is shooting 85.9% at the free throw line, making her the top free throw shooter in the conference. Freshman Stephanie Jean-Baptiste is second on the team with 10.4 points per game. Zairea Hannah is scoring 10.1 points a game and is ranked fourth in the conference with 9.1 boards a night. Defensively, Zoe Zutes leads the SUNYAC with 30 blocks on the season. Anna Lee is sixth in the conference with 24 total steals.

Looking at Plattsburgh: Plattsburgh State holds a 6-9 overall mark and a 2-6 record in the conference ahead of the weekend. Most recently the Cardinals fell to Fredonia on the road, 60-57, which interrupted a three game win streak. They are led by #5 Kortney McCarthy and #33 Payton Couture who both are averaging just over 10 points a game.
 
Scouting Potsdam: The Potsdam Bears are currently 6-7 overall and 4-4 in the SUNYAC with a game against Geneseo on Friday night. They have earned wins in their last three games against Canton, Buffalo State, and Fredonia. #12 Jakia Howard is the team's top threat, leading the conference in scoring this season at 15.9 points a game.
 
Up Next: The Golden Eagles are back in action on Friday, January 27th for another conference clash. They will hit the road for a date with Geneseo at 5:30pm.
