Golden Eagles Track & Field Wrap Up First Home Meet of the Year

Brockport, NY – On Saturday, the Golden Eagles indoor track and field teams hosted the Winter Welcome Back to Brockport Meet at The SERC.
 
The women's team placed four runners inside the top-10 in the 3000-meter race. Jocelyn Countryman's time of 11:13.98 earned her fourth place, as the first Golden Eagle to cross the finish line. Olivia Annunziato (11:23.68) finished fifth, Maeve Robarge (11:26.44) was sixth, and Julianne Wilson (11:30.18) took 10th.
 
On the men's side of the 3000-meter, Brockport had five of the first 10 runners to cross. Jared Smith's regional qualifying time of 8:49.70 was good for second place. Sean Killip was close behind, also hitting the regional standard, for third place at 8:49.98.
 
Dillon VanDemortel ran an 8:58.88 for fifth place in the 3000-meter. Clocking in at 9:00.93 for sixth in the event was Jonathan Zavala. Daniel Casey also snuck in the top-10 with an 9:04.03 to snag eighth.
 
Veronica Dailey clocked in at 5:19.98 to run a regional qualifying time in the mile for sixth place. Sarah Davis wasn't far behind, taking seventh with a 5:25.42. Jennifer Metz also cracked the top-10 for the event with a 5:31.74 for ninth place.
 
In the men's mile, Jonathan Zavala placed third with a regional qualifying mark of 4:16.39. Thomas Kressly also hit the qualifying time, taking eighth with a 4:21.15. Coming in 12th in the event, Dillon VanDemortel's 4:23.04 also met the regional qualifying standard.
 
The Golden Eagles had two top-10 runners in the 400-meter. Clocking in at 1:01.26, Clara Sensini placed third in the event. Courtney Bostic placed eighth with a time of 1:04.37.
 
In the finals of the 60-meter dash, Josh Jeziorski took fourth with a time of 7.15. Teammate Aaron Ottenwalder placed eighth with a 7.22 in the event.
 
Taking fifth place in the 500-meter race, Kevin Fischer ran a time of 1:08.01. Nick Markle came in at 2:00.14 to take ninth in the 800-meter.
 
The women's 4x400 relay team consisted of Clara Sensini, Jennifer Metz, Kaylee Haynes, and Vanessa Ramos. This squad ran a 4:12.31 to take second place at the meet.
 
Nick Markle, Cassidy Gilmore, Kevin Fischer, and Arrad Tausif teamed up for fourth place in the men's 4x400 relay.
 
Clearing a height of 1.49 meters, Sarah Killip tied for fourth in the high jump competition. For the men, Mark Simmons cleared 1.86 meters to place sixth.
 
Mya Henry cleared 3.05 meters in the pole vault to take fourth place. Teammates Tess Eichner (2.90m) and Hunter Czajkowski (2.60m) placed sixth and eighth respectively.
 
Freshman Dustin Meyer took the top spot in the men's pole vault by clearing a mark of 4.55 meters.
 
Sarah Crockett continues to dominate her competition in the throwing events. She won the shot put with a throw of 13.11 and registered a 17.13 meter mark for first in the weight throw.
 
With a 15.40, Emma Kinnicutt took third in the women's weight throw. Katrina Chandler placed sixth in the event with a distance of 13.89 meters.
 
Trinity Dees and Emma Kinnicutt placed fourth and fifth in the shot put event. Dees threw a 11.51, Kinnicutt recorded a 11.39, and in ninth place Liz Spencer had a 10.88.
 
Matthew Jackson and Alex Rood took third and fourth respectively in the men's side of the weight throw. Jackson threw a 15.04 and Rood earned a 14.98.
 
The Golden Eagles had three top five finishers in the men's shot put. Alex Rood took second with a 14.46, Jason Marincic placed fourth with a 13.87, and Matthew Muscolo was fifth with a 13.18.
 
Josh Jeziorski took first place in the long jump once again this season. He leaped a distance of 7.16 for first in the event. Alex Irving's mark of 6.58 was good for fifth. Howard Nix's 6.37 was for eighth place, while Hunter Zangerle took 10th with a 6.30.
 
Safia Sesay placed seventh in the women's triple jump with a distance of 9.66 meters.
 
In the men's triple jump, Alex Irving took second place and D'Andre Hunter came in third. Irving recorded a distance of 13.75 meters and Hunter leaped a 13.67. With a mark of 12.51 meters, Joseph Gefell earned ninth in the event.
 
The Golden Eagles head to the RIT Friday Night Meet in Rochester, NY on Friday, January 27th next week.
