Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team (9-9) will play in the last of three straight road contests, concluding at SUNY Geneseo (12-5) on January 27
th at 5:30pm.
Road Trip Success: The Golden Eagles are coming off back-to-back road wins at Plattsburgh State and SUNY Potsdam, adding to Brockport's impressive 5-2 record in road contests on the year.
Noteworthy Performances: Freshman guard
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste has been the catalyst for the recent Brockport success, averaging 14.5 ppg, 58% from the floor, and an impressive 70% from beyond the arc in back-to-back Brockport wins. Junior forward
Zairea Hannah propelled the Golden Eagles to a 70-68 victory last Friday against Plattsburgh State with her buzzer-beating layup in addition to collecting 11 rebounds.
Team Leaders: Brockport has three active players averaging double figures, leading the team in points per game is
Anna Felice (11.9 ppg) with
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste (10.9 ppg) and
Zairea Hannah (10.1 ppg) not far behind.
Zairea Hannah also leads all Golden Eagles in rebounds per game (9.5) averaging nearly a double-double per contest.
Looking at Geneseo: The Knights enter on a 3-game winning streak, picking up two on the road at Potsdam and Plattsburgh, and most recently beating Oswego convincingly by the score of 62-34. SUNY Geneseo currently sits in 3
rd in the SUNYAC with a conference record of 7-3.
