Rochester, NY – Friday night the Golden Eagles indoor track and field teams competed at the RIT Friday Night Meet.
After running a regional qualifying time of 7.11 in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash,
Kelly Brown ran a personal record time of 6.99 to take first in the event finals. Freshman
Aaron Ottenwalder was fifth in the race with a time of 7.18.
Ayden Grinion clocked in at 36.67 for second in the 300-meter. Teammate
Nathan Roehrig took fifth with a time of 38.47.
Brockport's 4x200 relay squad consisted of
Aaron Ottenwalder,
Derek Edick,
Jordan Cancel, and
Kelly Brown. The group teamed up for a time of 1:36.21 to take second in the event.
In the 4x400 relay the team of
Michael Durski,
Josh Jeziorski,
Nathan Roehrig, and
Ayden Grinion took third with a 3:35.21.
Freshman
Mark Simmons recorded a distance of 1.86 meters to earn third place in the men's high jump.
Dustin Meyer set a new personal record and also met the regional qualifying standard in the pole vault competition. The first-year pole vaulter cleared a height of 4.80 meters for second place on the day.
The Golden Eagle jump squad placed three inside the top five in the long jump competition.
Josh Jeziorski met the regional standard with a first-place mark of 7.24 meters.
Howard Nix took third with his regional qualifying distance of 6.74 meters.
Hunter Zangerle came in fifth with his personal best leap of 6.40 meters.
Joseph Gefell also set a new personal record on the day, recording a third-place triple jump of 13.19 meters.
Alex Rood hit the regional qualifying mark in the shot put, taking first on the day with his throw of 15.94 meters.
Jason Marincic was fourth in the event with his distance of 13.78 meters.
In the weight throw,
Matthew Jackson posted a third-place distance of 14.65 meters.
Jacob DeWilde threw a personal record in the weight throw with a 14.32, which was good for fourth place in the event.
Next weekend the Golden Eagles are back at their home facility for the Brockport Multi, set to run from Friday, February 3
rd through Saturday the 4
th.
