Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team is at home this weekend to jump back into conference action. The team will take on Geneseo at 5:30pm on Friday, January 6
th before hosting Fredonia on Saturday at 2pm.
Results from Down South: The women competed at the Mauro Panaggio Tournament, hosted by DME Academy in Daytona, FL before the holidays. Brockport picked up a win over Elmhurst, 60-53, to start the event. In the finals of the tournament, the team was defeated by Nazareth in overtime, 79-76. Going 1-1 down south, Brockport is now 6-5 overall with a 3-1 mark in the conference.
Overtime Battle: The matchup with Nazareth was an exciting one, as the teams needed overtime to decide a winner.
Juan Brown scored a career-high 18 points, shooting 8-for-11 at the foul line. She also stepped up to hit the game-tying free throw at the end of regulation.

Shannon Blankenship, and
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste all hit timely shots from long range down the stretch. However, Nazareth did just enough to hold off the Golden Eagles for the win.
Team Leaders: Leading the SUNYAC with an 86.2% success rate at the free throw line,
Anna Felice 12.6 points a game is top-10 in the conference.
Zairea Hannah ranks fourth in the SUNYAC with an average of 9.1 rebounds per game to go with her 10.0 points a game. Shooting 51.8% from the field, Hannah also has the fourth best field goal percentage in the SUNYAC. With 21 total blocks,
Zoe Zutes leads the conference with an average of 1.9 blocks per game.
Off the Bench: Against Nazareth
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste poured in 18 points off the bench, just one points shy of tying her career-high. The freshman is the team's third leading scorer, averaging 9.6 points a game as a reserve player.
Shannon Blankenship also hit double-digits in the overtime game with 10 points coming in off the bench.
Brianna Cordell had a monster game off the bench against Elmhurst, posting 12 points and 10 boards for the first double-double of her career.
Scouting Geneseo: The Knights head into Friday's game 7-3 overall and with a 2-1 mark against conference opponents. Late in December Geneseo closed out a trip to Puerto Rico with a convincing, 67-27, win over Mount Holyoke. #23 Lauren Romito leads the way for Geneseo, averaging 13.2 points and 10.4 rebounds a game. Brockport looks for revenge after going 0-2 against Geneseo last season.
Looking at Fredonia: Entering the weekend, Fredonia owns a record of 3-8 overall and 0-6 in the SUNYAC. The Blue Devils are on a seven-game losing streak, as their last win was against Hilbert, 58-54, back on November 15
th. Averaging 12.7 points a game, #10 Renee Park leads the team in scoring. In the earlier meeting between the two squads, Brockport snuck away with a 70-68 win on the road.

th for another conference game. They travel for a SUNYAC matchup with Cortland at 4pm.
