Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team is back in action on Tuesday, January 10
th for a road matchup against Cortland at 2pm.
Bounce Back Win: After falling to Geneseo at home on Friday, the Golden Eagles came back on Saturday with a, 64-49, win over Fredonia. Going 1-1 in conference action over the weekend, they are now 7-6 overall and 4-2 in SUNYAC play.
Recent Performances: The highlight performance of the home set came from
Juan Brown against Fredonia. She posted her first career double-double with career-highs across the board of 19 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks.
Making the first start of her career against Fredonia,
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste also had a nice game. She finished with 12 points and had career-highs of seven rebounds and three assists.
Zairea Hannah notched her fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 15 boards.
Anna Felice marked the fourth double-digit scorer for the Green and Gold, scoring 11 points.
In the loss to Geneseo
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste led the Golden Eagles with 10 points off the bench.
Anna Felice went 5-for-5 at the foul line on the way to nine points for the game.
Zoe Zutes blocked three shots in both games over the weekend, making her the SUNYAC leader in blocks with 27 on the season.
Rematch with Cortland: Brockport takes on Cortland for the second time this season, previously falling at home, 71-41, back in early December. The Red Dragons head into Tuesday's bout 11-2 overall and 7-0 in the conference.
Zairea Hannah had a strong game for the Green and Gold at home. She recorded a double-double with 14 points, 16 boards, and three blocks.
Anna Felice chipped in with 11 points going 4-for-4 at the foul line.
Cortland had three double-digit scorers, led by Casey Travers 16 points. The Red Dragons were receiving votes in last week's Top-25 poll by d3hoops.com.
Up Next: The Golden Eagles will be back home on Friday and Saturday for more conference action. They host New Paltz on Friday at 5:30pm and Oneonta on Saturday at 2pm.
