Brockport, NY - The Brockport Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams will open the 2023-24 season on Saturday, October 21
st at 1 pm down at the Cortland Pumpkin Relays.Â

Wahl's World: Since the hiring of Zach Wahl in the summer of 2021, the three-time All-American has elevated the Brockport swim and dive program to new heights. In his second year with the Green and Gold, Wahl guided the Golden Eagles women's and men's teams to 3
rd and 7
th place finishes at the SUNYAC Championships at ECC. Wahl has led the men's team to 7 head-to-head meet victories and the women's team to a strong 14-4 record across the last 2 years.

Hall of Fame: At the 2023 Alumni Awards and Hall of Fame Ceremony, Maria Quagliana '11 was inducted into the Brockport Hall of Fame class of 2023. Quagliana was a three-time All-American diver for the Golden Eagles. Quagliana placed ninth in the 1-meter diving competition at the 2010 NCAA Championships and was a three-time SUNYAC All-Conference selection. Quagliana ranks third all-time at Brockport in both the 1-meter dive (440.1) and 3-meter dive (436.6) and was recently named to the SUNYAC All-Decade Team.

2022-23 Recap:Â The Golden Eagles men's team posted a 4-5 record, securing wins against Potsdam, Buffalo State, Monroe Community College, and Fredonia. The men also secured a meet victory at the Hobart William Smith Spring Invitational, scoring 477 points. At the 2023 SUNYAC championships, the men's team moved up one spot from last year's meet, finishing 6
th with 234 points. Several men secured top-ten finishes, including
Luca Olivieri (6
th, backstroke),
Jace Fredericksen (10
th, backstroke),
Kurt Mueller (4
th 3-meter dive), and
Ren Watson (8
th 3-meter dive). The men's relay of
Luca Olivieri,
Joe Keeney, Garret Nanna, and
Jace Fredericksen took 6
th place, finishing up in 3:18.73. Graduate Student
Kurt Mueller represented the men's team at NCAA Regionals in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Mueller finished 15
th overall in the 1-meter dive (380.60 score), and 16
th overall in the 3-meter dive (393.15 score).

The Golden Eagles women's team was dominant throughout the 2022-23 season, posting an 8-2 head-to-head record. The women's team opened the season with first-place finishes in the 400-yard and 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relays at Cortland. The Golden Eagles also secured a meet victory at the Hobart William Smith Spring Invite, scoring 569 points, 213 more than 2
nd place Hobart & William Smith. The women's team made history at the SUNYAC Championships, finishing 3
rd with 457 points, breaking the previous program record of points in a championship meet. The Green and Gold produced 4 individual SUNYAC Champions, including Liz Sagan in the 50 free (23.59) and 100 free (51.67),
Emily LeFrois-Heath (400 IM, 4:37), and the Golden Eagles 200 freestyle relay of Liz Sagan,
Nicole Orcutt,
Sawyer Parker, and
Emily LeFrois-Heath. Liz Sagan's 23.59 in the 50-meter freestyle secured Brockport's first NCAA B Cut since 2015, ranking as the 31
st fastest time in the country. In addition to the women's team breaking 8 previous program records,
Kyra Russ represented the Green and Gold at the NCAA Regional's for the second straight year. Â Â Â Â Â

Fresh Faces: The Golden Eagles men's team welcomes 3 new freshman additions to the program, Jonathan Abraham, Matt Cole, and Josh Lauzonis. The women's team welcomes 8 freshman additions to the Swim and Dive program. The class is up of Leah Allen-Comella, Kyla Bugbee, Elvira Castro-Martian, Emma Conner, Lily Davis, Maddie Erhardt, Madison Parobek, and Jaemara Sturdivant.

Key Returners: Following impressive freshmen seasons,

Garrett Nanna all return looking to improve in year two. Rounding out the sophomore class for Brockport are

Thomas King, and Jack Olsian.
Luca Olivieri and
Ren Watson front the junior class for the Green and Gold following strong performances at last year's SUNYAC Championships. This deep junior class also includes Joe Keyser, Michael Laviani,
Ryan Sampson, Alex Scaglione, and Alex Scaglione. Lone senior
Logan Kime and graduate student Matt Chan round out the remainder of the men's roster. The women's team returns SUNYAC Champion Emily Lefrois-Heath, who will look to build off her incredible freshman season. The Golden Eagles' sophomore class is made up of

Schedule Outlook: The Golden Eagles will begin the 2023-24 season at Cortland on Saturday, October 21
st before returning home for back-to-back meets. The meets will take place on Saturday, October 28
th at 1 p.m. and Saturday, November 4
th at 1 p.m. Brockport will take on Oneonta before hosting both Geneseo and Nazareth on November 4
th. The Golden Eagles will follow up with a road meeting in Potsdam on Saturday, November 11
th at 1 p.m. before heading to Oberlin, Ohio for the Oberlin Invite from November 15
th to the 18
th. The Green and Gold will head to Oswego for a matchup with the Lakers on Saturday, December 2
nd before returning home from a break to take on Hobart & William Smith at home on Saturday, January 13
th at 1 p.m. Swim and Dive will round out their schedule with a pair of road meets against MCC and Fredonia (January 26
th and 27
th) before taking on the SUNYAC Championships from February 21
st to February 24
