Men's Soccer Defeats Geneseo to Clinch SUNYAC Postseason Berth

Brockport, NY – With Brockport's 2-0 win over Geneseo on Wednesday night, the Golden Eagles have officially clinched a spot in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament. They currently sit second in the conference standings at 8-2-5 overall and 5-0-3 in league play.

The Green and Gold remain without a loss against SUNYAC opponents and hold a 3-0-4 record on the home turf. Head Coach Gary LaPietra has the program back in the postseason for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

It was a family celebration on the scoresheet as brothers Chuck Domm and Russ Domm provided the scoring in the match. Chuck got it started in the first half with a goal at 11:08, assisted by Max Voyer.

The party continued with Russ' highlight play late in the second half. Alex Rivara crossed the ball into the box to finding Domm for the diving header goal to beat the Geneseo keeper. With the score at 80:06, Brockport held on for the 2-0 victory.

Earning his sixth shutout of the year, Andrew Taylor made seven saves to keep the Knights off the scoreboard.

The Golden Eagles now have their sites set on earning a first-round bye for the SUNYAC Tournament. For the regular season finale they take on Potsdam on Saturday at 1pm, with hopes of locking up either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed for the postseason.
