Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's soccer team is back in action with two games for this week's slate. The Golden Eagles travel to Houghton on Tuesday for a 5pm start and they will host New Paltz on Saturday at 12pm to celebrate Homecoming Weekend.
Last Week's Wins: Brockport picked up a pair of wins last week against SUNYAC opponents, improving to 3-0-1 in the conference. In the match with Oswego, the squad picked up a 3-2 road win. Then over the weekend the Golden Eagles upset #6 Oneonta, 1-0, on the road. With the game tied at 0-0, they scored the game-winning goal with less than a minute to play. These two wins pushes Brockport's record to 5-2-3 overall.
Weekly Awards Sweep: Brockport men's soccer team swept the SUNYAC weekly awards this time around.

Andrew Taylor were named the SUNYAC Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week..
Against the Lakers,
Russ Domm scored two of his three goals for the week. Late in regulation he scored what became the game-winner to clinch the win over Oswego. The next game against nationally-ranked Oneonta, Domm scored the game-winner once again. He scored in the final minute of play to give Brockport a 1-0 win.
Andrew Taylor started and played the full 90 minutes in both wins, improving his record in net to 5-2-3 on the season. Totaling seven saves for the week, Taylor made six stops against #6 Oneonta on the way to a clean sheet. He now has three shutouts on the year.
Leading Scorers: Russ Domm is leading the offensive effort for Brockport so far this season. He has totaled 11 points coming from five goals and one assist.
Sean Lee and
Evan Stevely are second on the squad with four points, each scoring twice so far. With one goal and one assist each,
Giovanni Cardona and
Josh Fitzpatrick each have three points.
Protecting the Net: Andrew Taylor has played every second of every game for the Green and Gold in net this year. With 10 starts, he has earned a record of 5-2-3 as the starting goalie. Taylor has come up with 42 saves and recorded three clean sheets for Brockport.
The Top of the SUNYAC: Four games into the conference schedule, the Golden Eagles are first in the SUNYAC standings at 3-0-1 (10 points). Cortland is currently second with a 3-0 mark (9 points) in the SUNYAC, while New Paltz is third at 2-1-1 (7 points). Here is the full listing of the conference standings:

Scouting Houghton: Currently on a four-game losing streak, the Houghton Highlanders are 3-6-1 overall heading into a Tuesday night matchup with Brockport. #9 Andy Loomis leads the team with five goals, while #17 Alex Kalivoda's 14 points are a team-best (4 goals, 6 assists). The Golden Eagles have won two in a row over Houghton, including a last year's 1-0 shutout at home.
Looking at New Paltz: The New Paltz Hawks enter this week 7-1-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the conference. They most recently pulled out a 2-1 win over Geneseo at home. #31 Joseph DiPreta has proven to be a scoring threat, leading New Paltz with 13 points on five goals and three assists. #24 Yare Harris and #19 Owen McGarrity have each scored four goals for the Hawks. New Paltz has taken wins in the last two matchups with Brockport, including last season's 1-0 victory.
