Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's basketball team will host the 58 Main BBQ & Brew Tip-Off Classic this weekend on Friday, November 17^th, and Saturday, November 18^th. The Golden Eagles will take on Keuka College on Friday at 5 pm before taking on William Smith College on Saturday at 3 pm.
 
The Golden Eagles will also host matchups between Fredonia and William Smith (Friday, 7 pm), and Keuka vs Fredonia (Saturday, 1 pm).
 
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles defeated Alfred State 68-55 to open the 2023-24 season, moving to 1-0.
 
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste dropped a career-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting, leading all scorers in the contest. Zairea Hannah overcame early foul trouble to turn in a double-double performance, scoring 10 points with a game-high 12 rebounds. The Green and Gold controlled the boards throughout, out-rebounding the Pioneers 44-18 in the contest. 11 different players registered points on the night for Brockport, including the first career baskets for Mandy Brink (4pts), Kelsey Morgans (4pts), Mallory Turner (3pts), and Shasha Cooper (2pts).
 
Second Half Team: Following a first half where the Golden Eagles shot just 36% from the field (10% from three) and held just a 2-point lead at halftime, the Brockport offense bounded back in a big way in the second half. Brockport would pull away in the 2^nd half, thanks to a much-improved 46.8% shooting in the second half (30% from three).
 
Scouting Keuka: The Wolves will enter the 58 Main BBQ & Brew Tip-Off Classic with a 1-2 record, most recently defeating Hilbert College on Wednesday. Through three games, senior Sydney Brown has led the way, averaging 13 points and 4.3 points for the Wolves. The Golden Eagles will look to continue the trend of the series, with Brockport coming away with a win in the last 3 meetings.
 
Scouting William Smith: William Smith will enter the weekend 0-1 following a loss against Geneseo last Tuesday, 73-56. The Herons are led by senior guard Brooke Jarvis, coming off a successful 2022-23 season where she averaged over 15 points and 4 rebounds a game. Brockport will look to avenge last year's 57-55 loss to William Smith at home.
