Brockport, NY – The Golden Eagle men's basketball team heads back out on the road this weekend for a pair of non-conference games. First they head to Keystone College for a 6pm start on Friday, before going to Messiah University to play Salisbury in a neutral site game at 1pm on Saturday.

Last Time Out: In the season opener for the Green and Gold, the team fell to Hobart, 85-72, earlier in the week. The two teams went back and forth in the first half, as the game featured 12 lead changes in the first 20 minutes alone. Free throws had a heavy impact on the game as Brockport went 11-for-20 at the line compared to a 28-for-35 effort by the Statesmen. Despite having four double-digit scorers, the Golden Eagles were outrebounded, 43-31, on the way to a loss in the first game of the year.
Season Opening Performances: Mekhi Beckett led the team with 19 points in the outing, shooting 3-for-6 from downtown to go with five boards.
Tony Arnold chipped in all over with 13 points, five boards, and six assists.
Colby Jordan hit double-digits as well with 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting and had four assists.
Zachary Rice was Brockport's fourth scorer to hit double-digits, tallying 11 points and three steals defensively.
Looking at Keystone: The Keystone College Giants enter the game Friday night looking for their first win of the season as well, currently owning a 0-3 record. After losing a couple blowout games, Keystone dropped a close, 90-86, matchup to Marywood. #15 Jack Anderson leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game while making 36.8% of his shots from deep. #2 Kamdyn Ayers is in the double-digits as well, scoring 11.7 points a game on 60% shooting from the floor. Brockport hosted Keystone in last year's meeting, taking the win 92-78.
Scouting Salisbury: The Seagulls from Salisbury enter the weekend with a record of 2-1, coming off wins against Pfeiffer (81-72) and Penn State Abington (97-63). The are looking to extend its winning streak to three games early in the year. #33 Jordan Oates is the top threat for Salisbury so far this season. Oates is averaging a double-double with 15.3 points and 11.3 boards a game. He is making good on 53.1% of his shots, including a 35.7% success rate from beyond the arc. Brockport defeated the Seagulls in their last battle, 75-69, back in 2019.
Up Next: Prior to the Thanksgiving holiday break, the Golden Eagles will travel for one more game. They will head downstate to play Hunter College at 5pm on Tuesday, November 21
