Brockport, NY - The #2 seeded Brockport women's soccer team will head to #1 seeded Cortland for the SUNYAC Championship on Saturday, November 4
th at 11 am. Brockport will head to Cortland looking to capture their first SUNYAC championship since 2006, the third in program history.

Postseason History: In program history, the Golden Eagle women's soccer team has claimed two SUNYAC Titles (1983 & 2006). This season is the first time since 2008 that they have made a run into the conference championship game. That year Brockport lost to Oneonta in PK's, 7-6, after playing to a 2-2 draw through overtime. Head Coach
Mike Idland has brought the team to the postseason six times since taking over in 2016 and is making his first trip to the SUNYAC Finals on Saturday.
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles overcame adversity in the second half to take down #6 seed Geneseo 6-5 in a penalty kick shootout following a 2-2 draw after overtime. Brockport jumped out in front early, with
Karlie Mann burying
Amelia Breton's feed to put Brockport ahead 1-0 at the 5:29 mark.
Jaylah Cossin would double the Brockport lead coming out of halftime, with
Kellie Gentile setting up the breakaway goal for Cossin.
Lindsay Wright would quickly respond for the Knights to cut the lead to 2-1, with just under 40 minutes remaining. Geneseo would catch a fortunate break at the 74:53 mark, with Ashleigh Scheidweiler's floating shot sneaking past McCrosson to tie the game at 2-2. Following the game-tying goal,
Madeline McCrosson would bounce back in a huge way, making 4 saves to shut out the Knights for the final 35:07 to force penalty kicks. McCrosson would finish with 13 saves across 110 minutes of action.

Megan Gerber, and
Diane Lange matched the first five PK makes from Geneseo in the shootout. In the sixth round of PK's, McCrosson made the biggest save of the year for the Green and Gold.
Elaine George buried the sixth kick for the Golden Eagles, sending the Golden Eagles to Cortland for the SUNYAC Championship.
Can't Stop Cossin: Putting Brockport ahead 2-0 with her 11
th goal of the season,
Jaylah Cossin has come up huge throughout the season for the Golden Eagles. Cossin has been one of the SUNYAC's most dynamic players, ranking 3
rd in goals (11), 2
nd in assists (7), and 2
nd in points.
Rising to the Occasion: After making her most recent appearance on October 21
st against Potsdam,
Elaine George came through when the lights were the brightest. George backed up McCrosson's huge save with her clutch penalty kick goal to send the Golden Eagles to the SUNYAC Championships.
Scouting Cortland: The #1 seeded Red Dragons advanced to the SUNYAC Championship following a 2-1 win over #5 seeded Oswego. The Golden Eagles fought Cortland to a 0-0 draw at home in their regular season meeting.
Up Next: With a win over Cortland, the Golden Eagles will advance to the NCAA Division 3 Championships on Saturday, November, 11
th. With a loss, the Golden Eagles will look to be selected for a at large bid to the NCAA Championships.
