Women's Basketball Hosts RIT for Non-Conference Clash

Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's basketball team will be home on Tuesday, November 21st to take on RIT at 6 pm.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles moved to 3-0 on the season following a 2-0 outing as hosts of the 58 Main & Brew Tip-Off Classic last weekend. Brockport rolled past non-conference opponents Keuka (91-53) and William Smith (80-58).

Stephanie Jean-Baptiste was the star of the weekend, averaging 19 points and three steals a game during the tournament. Jean-Baptiste was named as Brockport's representative for the All-Tournament Team.

Zairea Hannah was strong as well, averaging 11 points and eight rebounds on the weekend on just 29 minutes of action.

Freshman Mandy Brink came through with an excellent performance against Keuka, missing just one shot in a 14-point performance (4-for-5), and adding three steals in a balanced effort.

The Green and Gold moved to 3-0 on the season following the weekend.

Shooters Shoot: Through three games, four Golden Eagles have started the year shooting 35% or better from 3-point range (min. 7 attempts). This includes Stephanie Jean-Baptiste (35.3%), Shannon Blankenship (37.5%), Mandy Brink (42.9%), and Tatum Smyth (44.4%).

Controlling the Boards: Early in the season, two Golden Eagles have already eclipsed the 20-rebound mark. Zairea Hannah (28, 9.3 per game) and Zoe Zutes (20, 6.7 per game) have been critical pieces to a Brockport squad that has out-rebounded its opponents 140 to 104 thus far.

Moving the Rock: Hali Lucia has been the go-to playmaker thus far for the Golden Eagles. Lucia leads Brockport by a wide margin in assists (17 total), averaging nearly six dimes per contest.

Scouting RIT: The Tigers will enter Tuesday in search of their first win, starting the 2023-24 season 0-2. Senior Emma Waite has led RIT in scoring (14 ppg) and assists (4.5 apg). Brockport will enter Tuesday looking to avenge last year's 68-43 loss at RIT.

Up Next: Brockport will be back in action on the road against Rochester on Tuesday, November 28th at 7 p.m.
