Brockport Goes 1-1 at Tri-Meet in Massachusetts

Worcester, MA – This weekend the Brockport volleyball team took a trip to Massachusetts to play at the Clark University Tri-Match. Going 1-1 on Saturday, Brockport closes the regular season 15-13 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
 
Match 1 - Brockport 1, Coast Guard 3
 
The Golden Eagles started off with a 25-21 win in the first set to take a 1-0 lead. However, Coast Guard came back strong winning the next three sets all by a score of 25-16.
 
Jordan Thompson recorded a match-best 19.5 total points. She had 18 kills, 12 digs, one ace, and one block assist. In the libero role, Elsie Logan led the team with 24 digs in the match.
 
Kaitlyn Jewett was credited with 37 assists as the Green and Gold setter, adding eight digs along the way. Gianna Felipe had two aces on the serve to go with nine digs.
 
Match 2 – Brockport 3, Clark University 2
 
In a bounce back victory for Brockport on the day, the team was pushed to five sets against the hosting school, Clark University. The Golden Eagles took set one, 25-18, before dropping the second set, 25-14. They took set three, 25-20, but couldn't close the match out in the fourth as Clark took the point, 25-18. Brockport prevailed in the fifth set, 15-8.
 
Jordan Thompson had another strong showing, leading the way with 20 kills, 15 digs, three aces, and four block assists. Teammate Emma Schumaker got involved with 10 kills this time around.
 
Alenna Williamson set a season-high with eight total blocks (1 solo, 7 assisted) in the match to add to her seven kills. Elsie Logan led Brockport in digs once again, coming up with 17 against Clark.
 
Playing in all five sets of the second match, Arrica Silliman put forth her best outing as a Golden Eagle on the day. She notched career-highs of 47 assists, 10 digs, and got up for a career-best three block assists.
 
The Golden Eagles have now finished up regular season play and turn their attention to the postseason. They will be hosting Buffalo State on Tuesday, November 7th at 6pm for the opening round of the SUNYAC Tournament.
