Brockport, NY- The Brockport women's basketball team returns home to close out regular season SUNYAC play in the annual Play 4 Kay game against Oswego State on Friday, February 17
th at 5:30 pm, followed by a Senior Day matchup with Buffalo State on Saturday, February 18
th at 3 pm.
Play4Kay: Friday night is the annual Play4Kay game for the Golden Eagles, as they are one of many teams around the country participating in the annual fundraiser. Started by the Hall of Famer, Coach Kay Yow from NC State, she started Play4Kay as way to bring communities together and honor cancer warriors in the fight against ALL cancers affecting women. players,
coaches,
officials, and
fans to do something for the greater good that far exceeds wins and losses in competition, the Play4Kay initiative is the Kay Yow Cancer Foundation's largest fundraiser and plays a major role in the fight against cancer.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles dropped both of their SUNYAC contests last weekend beginning with a 61-52 loss at New Paltz. In a tight matchup that featured 16 lead changes, New Paltz outscored Brockport 20-9 in the fourth quarter to escape with a win. Guard
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste was Brockport's loan double-digit scorer with 12 points. The Red Dragons improved to 11-4 in SUNYAC play following the win. Brockport dropped their second game of the weekend 60-37 to a balanced New Paltz team that featured 3 double-digit scorers and 7 players with over 5 points in the contest. New Paltz continued its SUNYAC dominance, improving its flawless conference record to 16-0 and 20-3 overall. Brockport fell to 7-9 in SUNYAC play and 10-13 overall following the weekend.
SUNYAC Outlook: The Golden Eagles have clinched a berth in the SUNYAC tournament and are just one game behind Potsdam (8-8) to move up to the 5
th seed. Wins against Oswego and Buffalo State, and Potsdam losses to Oneonta and New Paltz would move Brockport up to the 5
th without the need for additional tiebreaker scenarios.

Scouting Oswego: In their first meeting, Brockport picked up a decisive 75-60 win at Oswego, fueled by a career-high 27 points for senior guard
Anna Felice. Oswego St is currently on a four-game losing streak, most recently getting doubled up at home in a loss to Cortland 74-37. The Lakers are led by junior guard Karleigh Leo who averages 12.4 points per game. Dating back to the 2013-14 season, Brockport holds a 14-3 record against Oswego including an ongoing four-game winning streak in the matchup.
Scouting Buffalo State: The Golden Eagles came away with a 71-63 win at Buffalo St in their first matchup back in November, aided by a balanced attack featuring 5 players with 8 or more points in the contest. The Bengals are led by forward Tashawni Cornfield, who averages 13.6 points per game and ranks top 10 in SUNYAC play in blocks, total points, and points per game. Buffalo State is currently on a 6 game-losing streak and has lost its last two meetings with Brockport dating back to the 2021-22 season.
