Brockport Returns Home to Play4Kay Ahead of Senior Day to Close Out Regular Season

Brockport, NY- The Brockport women's basketball team returns home to close out regular season SUNYAC play in the annual Play 4 Kay game against Oswego State on Friday, February 17th at 5:30 pm, followed by a Senior Day matchup with Buffalo State on Saturday, February 18th at 3 pm.

Play4Kay: Friday night is the annual Play4Kay game for the Golden Eagles, as they are one of many teams around the country participating in the annual fundraiser. Started by the Hall of Famer, Coach Kay Yow from NC State, she started Play4Kay as way to bring communities together and honor cancer warriors in the fight against ALL cancers affecting women. Uniting playerscoachesofficials, and fans to do something for the greater good that far exceeds wins and losses in competition, the Play4Kay initiative is the Kay Yow Cancer Foundation's largest fundraiser and plays a major role in the fight against cancer.

Senior Day: Prior to tipoff, a short ceremony will take place honoring lone senior Anna Felice and her contributions to Brockport women's basketball.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles dropped both of their SUNYAC contests last weekend beginning with a 61-52 loss at New Paltz. In a tight matchup that featured 16 lead changes, New Paltz outscored Brockport 20-9 in the fourth quarter to escape with a win. Guard Stephanie Jean-Baptiste was Brockport's loan double-digit scorer with 12 points. The Red Dragons improved to 11-4 in SUNYAC play following the win. Brockport dropped their second game of the weekend 60-37 to a balanced New Paltz team that featured 3 double-digit scorers and 7 players with over 5 points in the contest. New Paltz continued its SUNYAC dominance, improving its flawless conference record to 16-0 and 20-3 overall. Brockport fell to 7-9 in SUNYAC play and 10-13 overall following the weekend.

SUNYAC Outlook: The Golden Eagles have clinched a berth in the SUNYAC tournament and are just one game behind Potsdam (8-8) to move up to the 5th seed. Wins against Oswego and Buffalo State, and Potsdam losses to Oneonta and New Paltz would move Brockport up to the 5th without the need for additional tiebreaker scenarios.
