Potsdam, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team drops to 0-2 on the season after a 16-7 loss to Clarkson University on the road.
Jackson Worden led the team in points for the second straight game with four. He tallied two goals and two assists in the contest.
Ryan McCarthy had three points on a pair of goals and one assist.
Jack Peterson,
Nate Askin, and
Mike O'Brien all scored once on the day.
Ben Hay contributed offensively with one assist.
Anthony McGee led the team with three ground balls, while Askin and
Andrew DiPalma both had two. Playing the full 60 minutes in net,
Cameron Kuzniar made 15 saves in the loss.
Clarkson took a 3-0 lead after the first quarter, on the way to scoring five unanswered goals to start the game. Facing a 5-goal deficit in the second, Brockport would get on the board.
Worden had one goal and two assists, while McCarthy had two scores in the second to make it a 5-3 score. Peterson also netted one in the second quarter, but the Golden Knights added a few more to their tally.
Brockport entered halftime trailing its opponent, 8-4, with 30 minutes of action left to play.
Aksin, Worden, and O'Brien all scored in the third quarter, giving the Golden Eagles some life. They won the third, 3-2, but still faced a 3-goal deficit heading into the fourth.
The fourth quarter was all Clarkson, as the home team scored six more goals in period. Brockport was unable to find the back of the net in the final quarter, falling by a final score of 16-7.
The Golden Eagles are back on the road this weekend, for a 1pm matchup against Wooster out in Ohio on Saturday.
