Oneonta, NY – The SUNY Brockport Men's Baseball team fell 1-0 in the first game of the weekend trip to SUNY Oneonta on Friday, April 7.
 
The game was scoreless on both side until Oneonta scored their first run in the bottom of the sixth.
 
Starting on the mound for the Green and Gold was Adam Douglas. Douglas pitched seven innings striking out five batters, allowing two hits and one run. Cooper Meldrim pitched the final inning for the Green and Gold, letting up one walk, across three at bats.
 
Zach Eldred recorded the Golden Eagles first hit of the day in the top of the second inning. Justin Pangburn recorded a hit in the top of the third, with a single to right field. 
 
In the top of the fourth, Patrick Bigham reached first by an error on the first baseman and advanced to second when Ryan Mansell hit a single up the middle of the field. No one could bring them in, leaving both men on base.
 
After Oneonta's run in the bottom of the sixth, neither team had any hits. The Red Dragons held on for the 1-0 victory.
 
Brockport will be back to face the Red Dragons in a double header starting at 12pm tomorrow down in Oneonta to complete the three-game series.
