Brockport, NY – On Sunday the Golden Eagle men's soccer team hosted Elmira College for an afternoon match. With 18 seconds left on the clock, Brockport's
Dylan Rippe scored the game-winning goal to pull out a 2-1 victory.
On a hot day on the turf, it would be the visiting team from Elmira that struck first. Martin Harguindey was assisted by Cameron Neighoff at 16:53 in the first half. For the second game in a row, Brockport found itself trailing 1-0.
At 35:43, the Golden Eagles would find the equalizer to tie the score up at 1-1 before halftime. On a quick play corner kick,
Alex Rivara would cross the ball to the waiting
Josh Fitzpatrick crashing the far post. Fitzpatrick scored the header to tie the game.
Although both teams would combine for 14 shots in the second half of the match, the score remained knotted up at 1-1 until the final minute.

Andrew Taylor was able to make three saves in net to help secure the victory.
For the second game in a row, the Golden Eagles have come up with a clutch score in the final two minutes. They improve to 1-0-1 on the season following opening weekend.
Brockport will play its next match on the road next week. The team heads to St. John Fisher for a 7pm game on Wednesday, September 6
th.
