Brockport, NY - The SUNY Brockport field hockey team put together another defensive masterpiece to take down Nazareth College, 5-0, on Wednesday. The win over Nazareth marks back-to-back seasons where the Golden Eagles begin 2-0 with both victories being shutouts.

The Golden Eagles wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, with
Paige Thowe finding the back of the net just 55 seconds into the first to put the Green and Gold ahead 1-0.
Kelsey Zehr doubled the advantage for Brockport 7:10 into the first period with her first goal of the season. The Golden Eagles contently pressured the Nazareth defense, recording 7 or more shots in 3 of 4 periods.
Gianna Salerno recorded the first of her two goals in the contest in the second quarter, with
Bailey Lazore earning the assist and her fifth point in two games. The Brockport defense would hold Nazareth to zero shot attempts in the third. Brockport added to its lead with fourth quarter goals from
Quinn Guy and a second score from Salerno to put the game comfortably in Brockport's favor, 5-0.

The Golden Eagles defense has made life easy for goalie
Ella Buchanan as she recorded her second win and second shutout of the season. Once again, Buchanan only had to make one save across 60 minutes of game action as Brockport controlled the action from start to finish for the 5-0 win.
With the Green and Gold outshooting the Golden Flyers 26-3 (20-1 SOG), five Golden Eagles recorded three shots or more. This includedÂ

 The five-goal win over Nazareth marks four straight victories in the head-to-head series for Brockport, outscoring the Golden Flyers 16-5 during that stretch.
