Brockport Looks to Stay Hot for Pair of Home Games

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer program will be on its home turf this week to host both Keuka College in the home opener and Houghton University. The Golden Eagles will open up play at home Thursday, September 7th at 4pm against the Keuka College Wolves. Houghton University will come to town on Saturday, September 9th at 2pm.
 
Last Time Out - The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team defeated St. John Fisher, 1-0, on Tuesday night. The Golden Eagles are now 2-1 overall early on in the season after back-to-back wins.

Graduate Student Franchesca Polcaro provided the excitement early on for the Green and Gold. She got the game rolling by scoring at 7:44 into the first half, assisted by Jaylah Cossin. Polcaro's goal would give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead that would be held the rest of the way.
 
Fisher out shot Brockport by one but was unable to find the back of the net. Brockport had a total of seven shots on goal to the Cardinals six. The Golden Eagles were awarded five corner kick opportunities, while the Cardinals were given eight.
 
Madeline McCrosson spent 90 minutes in goal for the Green and Gold. Fisher and Brockport were evenly matched, both goalies making six saves. McCrosson didn't allow a goal, helping the Golden Eagles achieve their second shutout of the year.

Golden Eagle Scorers: The Golden Eagles have seven different goal scorers after the first three games. Jaylah Cossin's five points is a team-high thanks to one goal and three assists. Freshman McKenna Slate leads the squad with two goals. Kiley Longin has one goal and one assist for three total points. Amelia Breton, Katie Hotaling, Franchesca Polcaro, and Kaleigh Pettit have all found the back of the net once so far.
 
Looking at The Wolves – Keuka College is 0-2 going into Thursday's match up. The Wolves have put up a total of 40 shots so far this season, but have recorded no goals so far. Between their past two games, they have a total of 10 corner kicks. In goal for The Wolves is Sam Pelcher. Pelcher has allowed four goals in her 180 minutes on the field, making a total of 10 saves.
 
Looking at The Highlanders - Houghton University is 0-1-1 overall on the season. The Highlanders have a total of two goals this season coming from 26 shot attempts. They have been awarded 10 corner kicks on the year and only one yellow card. Both Elena Esh and Karryne Mims have recorded one goal for the Highlanders. Mims is also the leading shooter on the team, recording seven shots between two games. In the net for the Highlanders is Alliah Fluent. Fluent has played 180 minutes in the goal, allowing three goals and recording three saves, giving her a save percentage of 0.500%.
 
Brockport will head back on the road Wednesday, September 13th for a 5pm match up in Meadville, Pennsylvania against Allegheny College.
