Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team defeated the Keuka Wolves, 3-0, on Thursday afternoon in Brockport. The Golden Eagles have recorded three straight shutouts and are the winners of three in a row to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Megan Gerber opened the first half with a quick goal just 6:36 into the game. She was assisted by freshman
Amelia Breton on the score, which put Brockport up 1-0. Soon after the goal, lightning was spotted in the area, causing a delay in the action.
After a 30-minute break and a 10-minute warmup, the women resumed play. Coming off the break
Lara Kanbur stole the show scoring at 23:46 into the first half, unassisted. After a teammate's shot was saved, Kanbur was there for the rebound for the second Brockport goal of the day. The Golden Eagles entered halftime with a 2-0 lead over the visiting Wolves.
After the 10-minute, halftime intermission the women returned to the field for the second half. The teams went scoreless through most of the second half, until the final three minutes of regulation.
Franchesca Polcaro snuck the ball past the goal keeper into the bottom right corner, assisted by
Jaylah Cossin, at the 87:49 mark. Polcaro's goal secured the 3-0 final for the victory at home.
Brockport outshot Keuka, 15-10, in the match.

Mackenzie Bieger,
Maryalice Skutnik and
Diane Lange also recorded shots for the Golden Eagles. Brockport was awarded eight corner kicks, while Keuka was awarded just two.
In goal for the Golden Eagles was both
Madeline McCrosson and
Emily McCane. McCrosson spent 45 minutes in net, making four saves. McCane spent 45 minutes in goal making three saves. The two combined for the shutout in this one, the third of the season for Brockport.
The Golden Eagles will be back at home on Saturday, September 9
th for a 2pm game against the Houghton Highlanders.
