Last Time Out: Earlier in the week, Brockport outlasted Buffalo State at home for an overtime win, 79-75. The Golden Eagles were trailing for most of the game but made a run in the second half to make the game close. With a score of 69-69 at the end of regulation the two conference foes headed to overtime. Brockport got the job done in overtime, winning a second straight overtime contest. The win pushes the team to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the SUNYAC.

Freshman Impact: First year players Caquan Wester and Alex Tavarez have been great recently, making a strong impact on the court. Tavarez has scored 10 or more points in each of the last six games, while Wester has done so in five of the last six. During this span Tavarez (15.2 ppg) and Wester (13.3 ppg) are averaging a combined 28.5 points per game. Tavarez posted a career-high 30 points in an overtime win against Cortland, while Wester has registered back-to-back double-doubles.

Making Plays: Tony Arnold is a key piece of the puzzle for the Green and Gold, making plays on both sides of the court all season. As the orchestrater of the offense, he has dished out five or more assists in three straight games. In that span he has averaged 5.7 assists per game, which is a strong jump from his average of 2.6 assists through the eight games prior. Defensively he has at least one steal in each game, coming up with at least two swipes in five in a row. Arnold also scores 12.5 points per game.

Facing the Cardinals: Plattsburgh has been hot recently, winning four games in a row in this recent stretch. The squad has worked to get back to .500 on the season, currently holding a 6-6 overall mark to go with a 3-2 conference record. Kevin Tabb is one of the SUNYAC's top scorers, posting 18.3 points per game through 12 contests. The Green and Gold has been victorious against the Cardinals in seven straight meetings heading into Friday night.

Scouting the Bears: Potsdam enters the weekend with an overall record of 2-10 and 1-4 mark within the SUNYAC. The Bears lost their last two games to Plattsburgh (100-90) and Fredonia (70-69). The team is scoring 71.1 points per game but is giving up 84.5 points a game to the opposition. Jeff Williamson is leading the Bears with his scoring average of 11.5 points a night. Brockport has won seven games in a row against Potsdam, with the last loss coming back on January 10th, 2020.
