Geneseo, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team won its third game in a row on Saturday, defeating Geneseo on the road, 71-55. The squad improves to 10-5 overall and 6-3 in the SUNYAC.
 
Brockport had four double-digit scorers in the game, led by 13 points from 
Caquan Wester. The freshman went 6-for-10 from the floor, while grabbing eight rebounds and blocking a pair of shots defensively.
 
Jacob Oka had a strong showing with 12 points, six boards, three steals, and two assists. 
Jevonny Brown stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and two steals.
 
Nathaniel Gordon provided 11 points off the bench, shooting an efficient 3-for-4 from long range. 
Tony Arnold chipped in all over with eight points, seven rebounds, and a game-high six assists.
 
Leading from start to finish, the Golden Eagles dominated Geneseo. They got started early on in the first half, jumping out to a 10-point lead less than six minutes into the game. Brockport shot 57.14% from the field in the opening half, while limiting the Knights to 28.57% shooting.
 
With 7:43 left until halftime, the Green and Gold extended the lead to 20 points. Oka put the team up, 32-12, on his way to a 10-point showing in the first half. Geneseo made four straight free throws to close the half, but still trailed by 17 points at the break.
 
Brown quickly bumped the Brockport lead back up to 20 with five quick points early in the second half. The squad continued to score efficiently, shooting 50% from the field and 45.45% from beyond the arc in the second.
 
The Golden Eagles marched through the half comfortable in charge, leading by as many as 28 points. They would take a 71-43 lead into the final stretch, cruising through the finish line for the victory.
 
Brockport will be back in action with another road game against Fredonia early next week. The team is set to face the Blue Devils at 7:30pm on Tuesday, January 23
