Buffalo, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team bounced back on Tuesday night with a road win over the Buffalo State Bengals, 63-48. The Golden Eagles improve to 13-6 overall and 9-4 in the SUNYAC following the win.
Caquan Wester led the way with his double-double in the contest. Going 7-for-10 from the floor, he finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Getting inserted into the starting lineup,
Alex Tavarez scored 13 points on an efficient 6-for-9 shooting.
Nathaniel Gordon broke double-digits for the Green and Gold with 10 points.
Brockport came out in the first half and shot 68% from the field (17-25 FG) to take a big lead early on. The squad created a 20-point lead before halftime, going into the break with a 45-24 advantage on the scoreboard.
Although the offense slowed down for the Green and Gold, Buffalo State was held in check all game long. The Bengals finished the night shooting 28.6% from the floor and 21.4% from beyond the 3-point arc.
The Golden Eagles maintained a comfortable lead for most of the second half. They rolled past Buffalo State on the road for the 15-point victory.
Brockport is on the road for a pair of games this weekend to continue the road trip. The team faces New Paltz at 7:30pm on Friday and Oneonta at 4pm on Saturday.
