Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team is at home on Tuesday night (Jan. 9
th) for a 6pm matchup against Buffalo State.
Last Weekend: The Golden Eagles split a pair of road contests this past weekend in conference play. They started the back-to-back set with a loss to No. 10 Oswego, 78-68. The next day the Green and Gold bounced back against the Cortland Red Dragons. After playing to a tied score of 62-62 in regulation, the contest headed to overtime. Brockport outscored Cortland, 18-10, in overtime to steal the win on the road, 80-72.
Big Night for Tavarez: In the win over Cortland, freshman
Alex Tavarez had the best outing of his brief collegiate career. He posted a career-high 30 points, shooting 11-for-17 from the floor. He scored 12 of his points in overtime, leading Brockport to the win on the road. Tavarez has hit double-digit points in five straight games now, averaging 15.8 points a game during this stretch.
Golden Eagle Stats: Ten games into the season, the Golden Eagles are averaging 73.3 points per game as a team.
