Men's Soccer Heads to Utica on Saturday

Brockport, NY - The Brockport men's soccer team will head to Utica to face off with the Pioneers on Saturday, October 26th, at 7 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles celebrated Senior Day with a 3-2 win over Elmira on Saturday, October 26th. Brockport improved to 6-6-2 on the season with a 5-3-1 mark in Empire 8 contests.
 
Before the start of the contest, seniors Dylan Lopez, Andrew Taylor, Malcolm Phillips, DJ Taylor, Andy Cespedes, Eric Ramirez, Brendan Hill, Giovanni Cardona, and Russ Domm were all recognized for their contributions to the Brockport Men's Soccer program.
 
Brady Reinagel led the way for Brockport, burying two goals on three shots.
 
Alex Rivara netted his lone shot on goal for Brockport's second of the contest.
 
Dylan Lopez would pick up the win, making four saves across 90 minutes in a strong performance.
 
Andy Cespedes, Giovanni Cardona, Khadim Amar, and Alex Rivara all played 90 minutes for the Green and Gold.
 
E8 AOTW: Following a two-goal performance against Elmira, Brady Reinagel was named the Empire 8 Conference Offensive Player of the Week. He netted his first two collegiate goals including what proved to be the game-winner in the 66th minute to help lift the Golden Eagles to a thrilling 3-2 victory over visiting Elmira College on Saturday afternoon. He added the game's opening goal to put Brockport in the driver's seat in the 15th minute against the Soaring Eagles.
 
Postseason Scenarios: The Golden Eagles currently hold the fourth seed in the Empire 8 standings, entering the weekend five points back of the top seed in Nazareth. With two games remaining, Brockport has clinched a playoff spot and can finish as high as the #1 seed and as low as the #8 seed.
 
Scouting Utica: The Pioneers sit at 2-9-6 overall with a 1-5-3 mark in Empire 8 play, most recently falling at Hamilton College, 2-1. Saturday will mark the first meeting between Brockport and Utica since the 1990s when Brockport posted a 5-0-1 record between 1994 and 1999.  
 
Up Next: Brockport will close out the regular season at home against Geneseo on Wednesday, October 30th at 4 p.m.
