Brockport Celebrates Senior Day with Another Shutout

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team showed out with a windy, 2-0, win against the Utica Pioneers on Senior Day. The Golden Eagles currently sit at 13-1-1 overall and 9-1 in the conference with one more game left in the regular season. 

Early on in the first period, Diane Lange found the back of the net with a high shot that put Brockport up 1-0. Lange was unassisted at 11:56 on the play. Brockport had a total of six shots compared to the Pioneers' one, going into the halftime.

Coming back from the 15-minute break, the Golden Eagles were awarded a penalty kick just nine minutes in. Diane Lange took the shot, where she fired a rocket past the goalkeeper and scored her second goal of the day.

The Green and Gold had a total of nine shots in the second half, bringing the total to 15 in the game with seven on goal. Autumn Edwards, Jaylah Cossin Amelia Breton, McKenna Slate, and Caitlin Nelson all contributed with shots in the match. Brockport was also awarded nine corner kicks on the day without allowing Utica any corner kicks.

In between the pipes for the Golden Eagles was Madeline McCrosson for the entirety of the game. Utica was held scoreless for Brockport's 13th shutout of the 2024 season, tying the program record for the most shutouts in a single season (13 - 2023 &1995).

Up Next - Brockport is set to head to Geneseo on Wednesday, October 30th to face the Knights in the last regular season game of 2024. The match is scheduled for a 4pm start.
