Brockport, NY – On Wednesday night, the SUNY Brockport men's soccer team hosted Nazareth for a big Empire 8 matchup. The Golden Flyers stole the win, 2-1, moving the Golden Eagles to 4-5-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the Empire 8.
Both teams had opportunities to score throughout the first 45 minutes of play. Brockport had the advantage with five corner kicks compared to just one from Nazareth. This led to the home team winning the shot battle, 6-3, in the half.

Giovanni Cardona played a great ball into the box and Voyer was there for the finish. Voyer has now scored in four straight games, as Brockport went into halftime up 1-0 over Nazareth.
The early goings of the second half saw both teams place one shot on net, but the score remained at 1-0 in favor of the Golden Eagles. However, the 1-goal lead would not be sustained for long.
At 67:51, the visiting Golden Flyers tied the game up at 1-1. Beni Luyindula scored the equalizer, assisted by Tyler Warmington. Both squads had chances to break the tie, but the match remained knotted up heading into the final stretch.
The mood of the half changed at 78:49, as Nazareth took its first lead of the match. Braden Callahan played a nice ball to Tyler Warmington for the score. With no other goals scored in the match, the Golden Flyers held on the for 2-1 win.

th for more Empire 8 action. They will be on the road for a matchup with St. John Fisher at 1pm.
