Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team is on the road Tuesday night for the Empire 8 Quarterfinals matchup against the No. 3 seed Hartwick Hawks. This postseason matchup is set to begin at 7pm.
 
Finishing the Regular Season: This past weekend, the Golden Eagles concluded the regular season with a pair of non-conference wins. They first defeated Clarkson, 3-0, on Friday before taking down RIT, 3-1, on Saturday. With the two wins, Brockport ends the regular season at 16-9 overall and 7-4 in the E8.
 
Back to the Postseason: The Golden Eagles are in the postseason once again, this time playing in the Empire 8 Tournament. At 7-4 in conference play, they locked up the No. 6 seed for the E8 Championships. Head Coach Jim Clar has brought the program to the postseason in each of his first two seasons at the helm. In 2023, the squad fell in the SUNYAC Semifinals, 3-1, to Cortland.
 
Against Hartwick: The Hawks enter the postseason as the Empire 8's No. 3 seed after going 20-2 overall and 9-2 in conference play. This will be the second time this year that Brockport takes on Hartwick on the road. The previous matchup saw the Hawks take the 3-1 win.

Hartwick got going early with 25-18 and 25-14 wins across the first two sets. Trailing, 2-0, the Golden Eagles battled back with a 25-19 win in the third set. However, Hartwick put the match away with a 25-20 win in the fourth to claim the match, 3-1.

Alenna Williamson had 14 kills to lead the team, while Alexis Sison had 11 kills of her own. They were set up by Kaitlyn Jewett, who had 20 assists, and Lauryn Forand's 16 assists.

Gianna Felipe led the squad with two service aces to go with her seven digs. Brockport also saw aces from Lauryn Forand (1), Alenna Williamson (1), Elsie Logan (1), and Lauren Emke (1).

Elsie Logan came up with a team-high 12 digs. Alexis Sison had eight for the second most in the match for the Green and Gold.

Alyssa Bruno had the one solo block for the team on the day. Lauren Emke (3), Alenna Williamson (2), and Alexis Sison (1) all had block assists.
 
E8 Semifinals on Deck: In a win or go home situation in the postseason, both Brockport and Hartwick are fighting to advance to the semifinals. The winner on Tuesday will survive and move to the Empire 8 Semifinals, while the losing team's season comes to an end.
