Men's Swimming & Diving Earns 2nd Place Finish at Fredonia

Brockport, NY- The Brockport swimming & diving teams posted excellent finishes at the Blue Devil Invite at Fredonia, concluding on Sunday, November 24th.  The men's team took 2nd place (1414.5 points), with the women's team rolling to a first-place finish for back-to-back seasons (1703.5 points).
 
Elizabeth Sagan would have an excellent weekend, picking up wins in the 50 freestyle (24.32), 100 freestyle (52.74), and 200 freestyle (1:58.81).
 
Erik Parkes continued his strong season, finishing 2nd in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.75) and earning a 3rd place finish in the 200-yard fly (1:46.75).

Luca Olivieri collected three top-5 finishes in the final rounds, finishing 4th in the 200-yard IM (2:05.35), 200-yard backstroke (2:00.56), and 3rd in the 400-yard IM (4:28.91).

Jace Fredericksen was close behind, earning himself a 3rd place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.25) and 1650-yard freestyle (18:02.53). Fredericksen, Parkes, Olivieri, and Micheal Laviani would team up for a 2nd place finish in the 800-freestyle relay (7:22.47).
 
The Golden Eagles 200m freestyle relay of Elizabeth Sagan, Madeline Erhardt, Leah Allen-Comella, and Sarah Kilburn took the gold with an impressive time of 1:39.14. Hannah Ramos would fill in for Allen-Comella for another win in the 400-freestyle relay (3:27.27).
 
The men's 200 freestyle relay of Erik Parkes, Garrett Nanna, Will Mergl, and Luca Olivieri would take second place, finishing in 1:29.07.
 
Sarah Kilburn would follow suit with strong 2nd place finishes in the 50 freestyle (24.77) and 100 freestyle (54.01). She would also add to 2nd place finish in the 100-yard fly, finishing in 59.10.
 
Madeline Erhardt finished fourth for the women's team in the finals of the 100-yard fly, wrapping up in 1:01.45.
 
Adrianna Martino impressed in the breaststroke, earning a 3rd place finish in the 100-yard (1:10.89) and a 4th place finish in the 200-yard (2:34.28).
 
Lindsey Spitz earned a top-5 finish in the 100 breaststroke, finishing 5th with a 1:11.90 mark in the finals. Spitz would add another 5th-place finish in the 200 breaststroke at 2:38.30.
 
Ren Watson had a day on the board, taking 2nd place in the 1-meter dive with 420.40 points.
 
Garrett Nanna would snag a 5th-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, wrapping up in 51:06.
 
Miya Vitale, Adrianna Martino, Sarah Kilburn, and Elizabeth Sagan would team up for a win in the 400-medley relay in a photo finish (4:02.38). The foursome would collect more gold in the 200-medley relay, finishing in 1:50.69.
 
In the 3-meter dive, Emma Conner took the win, scoring 403.3 points on the diving board. Conner would snag another win in the 1-meter dive, racking up 398.95 points.
 
Up Next: Brockport will return home to face off with Oswego on Saturday, December 7th at 1 p.m.
