Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Jones Earns Career Win 100, SJB Explodes for Career-High 33 Points at Home

Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's basketball team earned an 83-62 win over Penn State Behrend at home on Tuesday, November 26th.  The Golden Eagles improved to 5-1, with head coach Corrine Jones earning win 100 for her career at Brockport.

Stephanie Jean-Baptiste could not be stopped, scoring 33 points on 14-22 shooting and 50% shooting from beyond the arc. SJB's 33 points are a career-high and is tied for the eighth most in program history, the most since Olivia Suhr in 2015.

The Golden Eagle defense set the tone early, holding Behrend to just nine points in the opening frame. The offense was clicking as well, shooting 62.5% from the floor in the first quarter to end the second up 22-9.

Consistency was key for the Brockport offense, scoring 20 points or more in all four quarters. In the second quarter, the Golden Eagles would expand their lead, taking a 42-24 lead into the break.

Brockport would hold its lead for the entirety of the contest, with brief runs from the Lions cutting the lead to as low as 14 points.

With the lead down to 14 in the fourth, six straight SJB points would end the comeback bid, leading Brockport to a 21-point win.

Kaileigh Hunt had an excellent two-way day, scoring 14 points with two steals and three assists.

Shannon Blankenship made her presence felt, scoring a season-high 10 points with three rebounds and a steal.

Anna Lee led the scoring off the bench, scoring nine points on an effective 4-6 shooting from the field.

Cam Tooley did just about everything, racking up 11 assists, nine rebounds, and five steals in an excellent performance.

Up Next: Brockport will head to Rochester to face off with RIT on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6 p.m.
