Patchogue, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team dropped to 1-5 on the season after a tough loss on the road, 76-70, to St. Joseph's University of Long Island.
Tony Arnold came out and posted his second double-double of the season. He led the Golden Eagles with 21 points and 10 boards in the contest to go with four assists.
Alex Tavarez was the only other Brockport player in double figures, coming in off the bench to score 15 points.
Right at the tip Brockport was able to take a slight edge on the scoreboard in the first half. The squad led by as many as six points in the opening half of Tuesday's road contest, but St. Joseph's kept it close. The Golden Eagles led 33-30 going into halftime over the other Golden Eagles from St. Joseph's.
Early in the second half, St. Joseph's would take a slim lead thanks to a quick 7-0 run. From the 17:25 point on the clock until the final buzzer, Brockport would trail. The Green and Gold began to slowly let the game slip away until St. Joseph's had constructed a double-digit lead. Brockport was unable to mount a run when it needed one, falling on the road by six points.
The Golden Eagles will return to their home court on Tuesday, December 3
rd for a 6pm tipoff against RIT.
