Brockport, NY – The Golden Eagle women's soccer team is set to host the No. 4 seeded Nazareth University Golden Flyers on Wednesday, November 6th at 4pm for the E8 Semifinals. The winner will advance to play in the conference finals on Saturday.
Quarterfinals Victory - On Saturday, November 2nd, the Green and Gold hosted No. 8 Seed, Elmira, in the Quarterfinals of the E8 Championship where they shut them out 1-0. The teams battled it out in the first half with the score sticking at 0-0 going into halftime. After the haltime break,
Jaylah Cossin was able to sneak the ball past the goalkeeper making the game winning unassisted goal. As the No. 1 seed, Brockport's win secured them a home game for the semifinal round.
Most Shutouts Ever - With the 1-0 clean sheet against Elmira in the opening round of the postseason, Brockport set a new program record. The Golden Eagles have 14 shutouts on the season, breaking the previous single season record of 13 (1995, 2023).
Co-Offensive Player of the Week – On Monday, November 4th,
Jaylah Cossin earned the Co-Offensive Player of the Week honor announced by the E8. Cossin had a total of four points at Geneseo and added another two vs. Elmira. She had a total of 11 shots overall between the two games with five being on goal contributing strongly to both wins.
A Look at Nazareth – The Golden Flyers currently are at 11-5-2 overall and 7-2-2 in the conference bringing them to sit at the No. 4 Seed. On Saturday, Nazareth faced Russell Sage College in the Quarterfinals where they shut the Gators out 1-0. Brockport faced Nazareth back on October 9th, where the Green and Gold shutout the Golden Flyers, 5-0.
Win or Go Home - Both teams will be competing for a chance to continue their seasons. The losing team will be eliminated from the postseason, while the winner moves on to play in the Empire 8 Championship Game on Saturday, November 9th. As the No. 1 seed, Brockport has hosting rights for the finals with a win over Nazareth in the semis.
