Brockport, NY- The Brockport women's basketball team will head to John Carroll University to open up the 2024-25 season. The Golden Eagles will take on Alma College on Friday, November 8
th at 5 pm before taking on John Carroll University on Saturday at 1 p.m.

2023-24 Recap: The Golden Eagles finished the 2023-24 season 14-12 overall, posting a 10-8 record in SUNYAC play and earning the #4 seed in the SUNYAC tournament. Sitting at 9-11 on the season with just six games remaining, Brockport would win five of its last six games to secure postseason play in back-to-back seasons.
Zairea Hannah would break the program record for single-season rebounds in a postseason-clinching win over Oswego. Hannah surpassed the previous rebounding record of 289, set in the 1999-2000 season. Despite a strong end to the regular season, the Golden Eagles would fall at home to Oswego, 70-47, in the SUNYAC Tournament. The squad earned three All-Conference selections, including
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste (2
nd team),
Zairea Hannah (2
nd team), and
Zoe Zutes (3
rd team).

Key Returners: Despite losing key contributors
Zoe Zutes and
Zairea Hannah, the Green and Gold return four of its six top scorers from 2023-24.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste (15.3 ppg) returns as Brockport's top-scoring threat alongside
Anna Lee (9 ppg),
Mandy Brink (7.1 ppg), and
Shannon Blankenship (4.2 ppg).
Mackenzie Higby,
Mallory Turner,
Shasha Cooper, and
Madison Misser all return from 2023-24 looking poised for bigger roles in the 2024-25 season.
Zairea Hannah will return as a member of the Brockport coaching staff.

Fresh Faces: Brockport welcomes ten new additions to the program for the 2024-25 season, adding an intriguing mix of youth and experience. The Golden Eagles added Saint Rose transfers
Kaileigh Hunt and
Harmony Philo, as well as Le Monye transfer
Cam Tooley. Seven freshmen make up the remainder of the new additions for Brockport, with
Jackie Kozakiewicz,
Peyton Maneri,
Claire Turner,
Madeline Hoak,
Josie Wray,
Gabby Stuart, and
Leah Thompson rounding out the roster.

Breakout Watch: Appearing in just 16 games last year due to injury, senior guard
Shannon Blankenship looks positioned to break out in her senior season. Blankenship averaged a steal per game in her junior season, posting five games with two or more steals. She added 4.2 ppg and nearly four rebounds per game as an all-around contributor for Brockport.

Scouting Alma: The Scots finished the 2023-24 season 13-13 overall with a 9-7 conference record, earning a spot in the MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament. Alma scored ranked wins over #4 Hope College and #21 Wittenberg in the 2023-24 season.

Scouting John Carroll: The Blue Streaks ended 2023-24 with a 13-13 record, earning a spot in the OAC conference tournament with an 8-10 conference record. In last year's Winking Lizard Tip-Off Tournament, John Carroll went 2-0 with wins over Alma College and Asbury University.
