Box Score University Heights, OH - The Brockport women's basketball team was defeated in the Championship Game of the Winking Lizard Tip-Off Tournament against John Carroll, 92-65, on Saturday, November 9^th. Stephanie Jean-Baptiste was named to the All-Tournament team, as the Golden Eagles dropped to 1-1 on the season following the loss.
 
Brockport started the game strong, scoring the first six points of the contest with buckets from Anna Lee, Shannon Blankenship, and Stephanie Jean-Baptiste. Six first-quarter points from SJB would help give Brockport a 15-13 edge entering the second quarter.
 
The second quarter would ultimately sink the Golden Eagles, scoring just nine points and allowing 23 from the Blue Streaks. John Carroll would open the quarter with a 17-0 run.
 
Despite a relatively even third quarter (26-23 John Carroll), the Golden Eagles would be unable to fight back from a 15-point deficit entering the final quarter.
 
A pair of Peyton Maneri buckets would bring Brockport within nine at the 8:32 mark of the fourth, but John Carroll would outscore Brockport 30-12 to finish the quarter and earn the win.    
 
Harmony Philo made the most of her 17 minutes of action, draining five three-pointers for 15 points and two rebounds.
 
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste led Brockport in scoring with 16 points, adding six rebounds, a block, and a steal.
 
Peyton Maneri rounded out the double-digit scorers for Brockport, dropping 10 points on effective 5-9 shooting from the floor.
 
Three-point shooting would tell the story of the contest, with Brockport shooting just 20% (5-25), compared to 42.5% for John Carroll (17-40).
