Akron, OH – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team lost its exhibition match on Saturday against Division I Akron University, 101-48.
Brockport's
Tony Arnold got the game started with a fastbreak layup, but the first half belonged to Akron. The Zips came out and posted 56 points on 52.5% shooting in the half. They would go on to hold a 56-24 lead at the break.
The Golden Eagles would score 24 points once again in the second half, while Akron added another 45. The Zips had seven double-digit scorers in what become a comfortable win at home over the Green and Gold.
Arnold led the Brockport scoring effort with 11 points in the game. He also had team-highs of eight boards, two assists, and one block.
Jacob Oka scored an efficient six points (3-for-5) with four boards.
Christian Amica,
Alex Tavarez, and
Adewale Fasanmi all finished with five points and three rebounds.
The Golden Eagles will get back to their home court following the holiday break. Brockport will host SUNY Delhi on Saturday, January 4
th at 2pm for non-conference action.
