Brockport, NY – In the opening round of the SUNYAC Tournament, No. 3 Brockport was eliminated by No. 6 Oneonta at home, 75-68. The Red Dragons will advance to the SUNYAC Semifinals on Friday night.

Brockport battled on its home floor, as three players hit double figures in the scoring column.
Caquan Wester led the way with 19 points on an efficient 8-for-14 shooting on the night. Wester also chipped in with six boards, two assists, two blocks, and a steal.

Wester got going right away in the opening minutes of the postseason contest, scoring five quick points to give Brockport an early 7-2 lead. The Golden Eagles went on to win the opening half on their home floor, entering the break with a 38-37 edge.

As the second half began, Oneonta would start to create a lead of its own. With a hit from downtown, the Red Dragons would go up by 10 points with 14:31 on the clock. They led by as many as 14 points, 63-49, with less than 10 minutes left to play.

Offense was hard to come by for the Green and Gold in the second half, as the team shot 25% from the field in the second. Getting some easy looks in transition, the Golden Eagles would cut the deficit to single digits approaching the final stretch.

Wester nailed a 3-pointer with just 3:47 left to play, which made it a 67-62 lead for Oneonta.
Tyler Cowie came up with a pair of big makes at the charity stripe to keep Brockport within striking distance. However, Oneonta did just enough to hold on for the win on the road, 75-68.

The Golden Eagles' season has officially come to an end following the loss to Oneonta in the 1
st Round of the SUNYAC Tournament. They finish the year 16-9 overall and 12-6 in conference play, making a 23
rd consecutive postseason under first-year Head Coach
