Buffalo, NY – The SUNY Brockport swimming and diving team completed day two of the SUNYAC Championships at the Burt Flickinger center in Buffalo New York. The women are currently in second place with 217.5 points, trailing only Geneseo with 386.5. The men's team is in sixth place with 104 points after two days of action.
Jace Fredericksen and
Michael Laviani got the night started for the Green and Gold with back-to-back finishes in the 500-yard freestyle. Fredericksen places 13
th with a time of 4:57.64. Laviani placed 14
th with a time of 5:02.67.
Miya Vitale and Hannah Pauly swam the 500-yard freestyle earning 8
th and 16
th place. Vitale touched the pads at 5:33.57 keeping her splits all under 35 seconds. Pauly touched the pads at 5:43.02.
Luca Olivieri scored 13
th with a time of 1:59.06 in the 200-yard individual medley.
Emily LeFrois-Heath finished in third place in the women's 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:12.51.
Elizabeth Sagan and Sarah Kilburn snagged back-to-back finishes in the 50-yard freestyle. Sagan finished third with a time of 24.19. Kilburn touched the pas at 24.30 earning fourth.
Kyra Russ earned a gold medal finish with a score of 432.40 in the 1-meter women's diving event.
The men kept the party going with the 200 free relay. The team of
Jack Olsian,
Garrett Nanna,
Joe Keeney and
Alex Scaglione finished in 6
th place with a time of 1:29.06.
The women finished second in the 200 free relay. The team of Elizabeth Sagan, Sarah Kilburn, Emily LeFrois-Heath and Emma Butler earned silver with a time of 1:38.04.
The Golden Eagles will return to the pool for a 10am start with prelims on Day 3 of the SUNYAC Championships.
