Brockport Falls at U of R

Rochester, NY – The SUNY Brockport softball team was swept on the road Saturday by the University of Rochester. U of R took game one by a score of 8-0 and then took game two with a final score of 10-0. Brockport is now 5-11 overall on the season.
 
Game 1: Brockport 0 , U of R 8
 
The hosting Yellowjackets were able to put runs on the board in each of the first four innings to take a comfortable 6-0 lead going into the fifth inning. While Brockport was unable to get a runner home, U of R added two more in the sixth to put the game away, 8-0.
 
Emma DeJesus (1-3), Aubrey Ennis (1-2), and Jackie DuTot (1-2) provided the few hits offensively in the game for the Golden Eagles. Rose Stroh (L, 0-2) started at pitcher, going 2.0 innings with three earned runs allowed. Fiona Gibiser pitched the final 3.0 innings, allowing four earned runs to score.
 
Game 2: Brockport 0, U of R 10
 
In the second game, neither team could score until the third inning. In the bottom of the third the Yellowjackets put up six runs to take a solid lead. In the fourth they added four more, pushing it to a 10-0 lead for the final score.
 
Hadley Alguire (L, 2-2) started at pitcher for the Green and Gold in game two. She gave up five runs on four hits in 2.1 innings of work. Kendall Phillips (0.2 IP) and Fiona Gibiser (1.0 IP) stepped in to close out the game.
 
The Golden Eagles are scheduled to host Buffalo State on Friday, April 5th for the home opener at the Clark V. Whited Complex at 3pm & 5pm. They then will host Fredonia on Saturday the 6th for a doubleheader starting at 12pm.
