Rochester, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team moves to 1-2 on the season after a close, 15-13, loss to RIT on Wednesday.

Alayna Foos set a new season-high with four goals for the Golden Eagles. Cassidy Burnash scored a hat trick for the third game in a row, as she totaled five points in the game (3G, 2A).

Freshman Tristan Davis was active throughout the day with three points (2G, 1A), six draw controls, and two ground balls. She went 2-for-3 on the free position and even caused one turnover defensively.

Paige Thowe (1A) and Sarah Kilburn (1G) both finished with one point each and four draw controls. Thowe also led Brockport with four ground balls with her hustle. Julia Quinlan (2G) and Hailey Lewkovich (1G, 1A) both had two points for the squad.

RIT came right out the gates with four unanswered goals in the first quarter. Alayna Foos pulled Brockport out of its slump with a pair of scores, as the team trailed 4-3 going into the second.

The Golden Eagles kept their momentum from the end of the first, scoring six goals in the second period to erase the early deficit. After trailing 4-0, Brockport held a slim lead at halftime, 9-7.

RIT tied the game up in the third quarter with a pair of scores, making it a 9-9 game. Brockport responded with goals from Davis and Burnash to regain the lead. A late score from the Tigers made the scoreboard read 11-10 going into the fourth.

The final frame saw RIT's best quarter of the contest. The Tigers scored four in a row to take a 14-11 lead with over eight minutes left to play. Foos and Lewkovich found the back of the net to make it a 1-score game. RIT was able to put the game away with one more goal, resulting in the 15-13 final.

The Golden Eagles return to their home turf this weekend for a chance to bounce back against Nazareth. Game time is scheduled for 12pm on Saturday, March 9th.
