Brockport, NY - The Golden eagles picked up their first pair of SUNYAC WIN's this season today against the Fredonia State Blue Devils at home. Brockport won the first game 12-2 and the second 11-2. The team moved to 12-4 overall and 2-0 in the SUNYAC. Brockport will host Fredonia tomorrow at 10AM in the final game of the three game series.

Game One - Matt McGowan started game one on the mound. He pitched 5.0 innings, let up seven hits, two runs, one walk and five strike outs across 22 at bats. 

Cole Traudt got the ball rolling today with a single in the first inning to right field batting in Eldred for the first run of the game. 

The Golden eagles scored five runs in the second inning. Zach Eldred walked brining home Jason Mansell. Josh Indek advanced to second and put wing on third. Brian Tiejten singled to center field brining home both Indek and Wing. With Cole Traudt up to bat next, he reached first on an error brining home Eldred for the sixth run of the game. Brockport lead 6-0 heading into the third inning. 

Fredonia scored one run in the fourth and one in the fifth. 

In the bottom of the fifth Nick Mahar singled to left field, bringing home both TJ Strevell and Cole Traudt. With Mansell on second, Indek flied out to center field batting in Mansell. Frank Vanzillotta advanced to second on an error by the pitcher and then advanced to third, allowing Mahar to score the Golden Eagles 10th run of the day. 

In the seventh Kyle Blake singled to left field, batting in Vanzillotta. Mansell singled to center field batting in Blake. 

Anthony Lapine pitched two innings today striking out three batters and letting up two hits across seven at bats. 

Game Two - Justin DelVecchio started game two on the mound pitching 6.0 innings. Delvecchio had 8 strikeouts, one walk, four hits and two runs.  

Traudt singled to left field starting the second game by batting in Indek early in the first. Mahar then reached first on an error by the left fielder, and advanced to second and batted in both Blake scored and Traudt. Vanzillotta reached first on an error and Indek advanced to third, Sean Becker scored. Tietjen kept the inning alive batting in Indek on a sacrifice fly out to right field. Frank Vanzillotta capitalized on the opportunity and stole home throwing Brockport up 6-0. 

Matt Mayer got the party started in the third with  his first collegiate home run!

Fredonia scored a home run in the fourth making the score 7-1. 

Matt Mayer doubled in the top of the fourth, brining home Blake and Tietjen. 

Fredonia scored once again in the top of the sixth. 

Matt Mayer singled in the sixth batting in Blake and Traudt for run ten and eleven in the 11-2 game. 

Troy Leibert the hometown hero pitched 2.0 innings. He struck out four batters and let up no hits and no runs, across six batters. 

Robert Caeners came in to finish the game for the Golden Eagles. Caeners pitched the final inning, striking out two batters across three batters. 

Brockport will be home again tomorrow April 2nd at 2PM against Fredonia State for the final game of the 3-game series.
