Baseball Falls to Ithaca College in Mid-Week Matchup

Brockport, NY – The Brockport Golden Eagles fell to the Ithaca Bombers, 11-3, at home in a mid-week non-conference matchup. Brockport is now 17-13 overall and remains 5-7 in SUNYAC play.
 
Starting on the mound for the Green and Gold was Anthony Lapine. Lapine pitched 3.0 innings on the day while letting up three runs, two walks and struck out four batters across the 12 batters he faced.
 
Zach Eldred got the ball rolling right off the bat with a double to center field. TJ Strevell sacrificed on a bunt helping Eldred advance to third. David Belsito hit a single down the line to right field, batting in Eldred for the first run of the day.
 
Ithaca scored its first run of the contest in the top of the third inning. The Bombmers scored their second run in the top of the fourth. They also hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the fourth inning, putting the Golden Eagles down 8-1.
 
Brockport scored the second run of the game in the bottom of the sixth. Josh Indek hit a single to center field and then stole second base. Alan Michael LeFrois singled to right field, bringing home Indek for his first RBI of the season. Ithaca answered by scoring three more runs in the top of the seventh.
 
Troy Leibert pitched 0.1 inning, struck out one batters, let up four runs across five batters. Troy pitched 11 strikes in 11 pitches. Brendan Pajak pitched 1.1 innings today letting up one run. He let up three hits and one walk, while striking out two batters across the seven at bats.

Eric Servellon pitched 1.1 inning, striking out two batters. Servellon let up one walk, and no hits or runs across the five batters he faced. Robert Caeners pitched 1.0 innings. He let up three runs, three hits and struck out one batter across the six batters he faced.

Tim McClare pitched one inning, letting up one hit, one walk and one strike out across four at bats. Thomas DiGirolomo finished the game on the mound for the Golden Eagles. He pitched 1.0 innings, striking out two batters and letting up one hit across the three batters he faced.
 
The Golden Eagles will head up to Plattsburgh this weekend for a north country road trip. This is the second to last SUNYAC 3-game series of the regular season. Brockport will play Plattsburgh at 3pm on Friday and then again on Saturday for a 12pm and 3pm doubleheader.
